LAFBART Unveils Made-in-Nigeria Security Patroller and Commercial Tricycles with Over 60% Local Content
AKURE, NIGERIA — In a historic milestone for sub-Saharan Africa's automotive landscape, indigenous engineering giant Lafbart Innovations & Consulting Limited (LAFBART) has officially hosted an exclusive product exhibition and grand launch at The Dome in Akure, Ondo State. The high-profile event, held under the banner theme "The Future of Automotive Manufacturing in Nigeria," marked the debut of cutting-edge, locally engineered utility vehicles tailored specifically to address Nigeria’s security, commercial transportation, and logistical challenges.

The exhibition drew prominent national and state dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa (represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, mni), and the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Chief Joseph Oluwemimo Osanipin.

Breaking New Ground in Local Value Addition

During the presentation, the management of LAFBART revealed that its newly launched vehicle line achieves over 60% local content production. This major technological feat utilizes locally sourced materials and domestic fabrication expertise, positioning the company at the vanguard of the Federal Government's newly introduced "Nigeria First Policy" aimed at accelerating domestic manufacturing.

Chief Osanipin of the NADDC lauded the company’s absolute patriotism and commitment to heavy-industry engineering, confirming that LAFBART's alignment with national value addition policies sets a blueprint for other local assemblers to transition into true manufacturers.

Unveiling the Fleet: Innovation on Three and Four Wheels

The primary highlight of the exhibition was the live demonstration of three newly fabricated workhorses designed for durability, ease of maintenance, and high cost-effectiveness compared to traditional four-wheel commercial vehicles:

1. The "Patroller" (Advanced Security Intervention Vehicle)
Billed as the new face of tactical community and corporate security patrol in Nigeria, the Patroller is built to close existing infrastructure gaps for local law enforcement and private security details.

'''Key Features: Integrated multi-angle external surveillance cameras, high-intensity high-beam lighting systems, real-time GPS navigation tracking, and a heavy-duty, biometric-supported security locker system for weapons and sensitive gear. '''

2. The "Keke Naija" (Standard Passenger Tricycle)
Engineered directly from the ground up to challenge the dominance of foreign imports in the public transport sector, this standard passenger tricycle brings optimized fuel/energy efficiency and reinforced structural durability tailored to withstand demanding Nigerian road networks.
3. The Cargo Lifter (Open-Back Utility Tricycle for Hauling Load)
Developed specifically for small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), agricultural logistics, and urban waste or freight transportation, this open-back model features an expansive, heavy-gauge steel cargo tray. Its advanced rear suspension is fine-tuned to transport heavy material loads cost-effectively across rural and urban markets.

A Catalyst for Economic Transformation

Speaking on behalf of the host state, Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami praised LAFBART as a premier technological ambassador for Ondo State. He emphasized that by replacing imported logistical vehicles with robust, locally fabricated tricycles and security units, the state is witnessing a reduction in capital flight, a surge in local job creation via modern auto mechatronics, and a scalable solution to grassroots economic mobility.

With regional strategic backing and engineering frameworks aligned with global metrics, LAFBART’s latest exhibition successfully signals a structural shift: shifting Nigeria from an automotive consumer nation to an active hub for innovative mobility solutions across the African continent.
